Scrum.org Adds New Designated Training Facility to Headquarters in Time to Celebrate 21st Anniversary of Scrum

October 18, 2016

Large Office Expansion Enables Organization Dedicated to Helping Improve the Profession of Software Delivery to Accommodate Larger Numbers of Students in its Professional Scrum Training Courses

Boston – October 18, 2016 Scrum.org, the mission-based organization dedicated to improving the profession of software delivery through training, certification assessments, tools, processes and community, today announced the addition of a new designated training facility to its headquarters. The added space increases the organization’s footprint by almost 65 percent in the same building where the first Scrum project was created more than 20 years ago.

“Scrum.org prides itself on delivering consistent, focused courses with quality, experienced Professional Scrum Trainers to help improve the profession of software delivery,” explained Ken Schwaber, co-creator of Scrum and founder of Scrum.org. “By adding a dedicated training space, we are able to work with more people to help them learn the skills they need to become agile, right in the very place where the practice of Scrum was first conceived.”

The new training facility, which adds 2,126 square feet to the organization’s existing space, offers specialized classrooms that accommodate up to 30 students per class and at least 50 participants for meetings, such as local Agile User Group meetings that will be hosted on-site. The organization will be holding its first two-day Professional Scrum Master (PSM) course in the new facility on Tuesday, October 18 and Wednesday, October 19, coinciding with the 21st anniversary of the founding of Scrum.  More classes are scheduled throughout the end of the year and into 2017.

“Growing our headquarters to include this classroom space enables us to more effectively improve consistent knowledge of Scrum,” said Dave West, CEO / Product Owner, Scrum.org. “We are excited to be able to host more Scrum courses and Agile community events than we’ve been able to in the past as we continue to change and improve the way software is delivered around the world.”

Scrum.org will be celebrating the birthday of Scrum with a party on Wednesday, October 19 at 5:30 pm ET, following the completion of the first PSM class in the new classroom. Champagne, hors d'oeuvres and cake will be served to all who attend. Anyone interested in joining the celebration must RSVP to marketing@scrum.org by Tuesday, October 18.
