Since 2009 Scrum.org Professional Scrum Trainers have helped over 60,000 people in their journey to Scrum mastery through training. They have worked with thousands of organizations delivering a consistent training experience and many of those organizations have made professional Scrum part of their agile curriculum, taking advantage of assessments and certification to drive validated learning. Validated learning with assessments is one of the three pillars for Scrum.org. The three pillars are:
- Professional Scrum Trainers - A community of Scrum professionals that are of the highest technical skill, great teachers / coaches and who live the Scrum values every day.
- Assessments - A 3rd party assessment and certification approach that is credible in testing a student’s knowledge of Scrum.
- Training - Training materials that are both up to date, and consistently delivered by licensed, professional trainers who are experienced in Scrum and software delivery.
These pillars are fundamentals to our mission of improving the profession of software delivery with a focus on a professional community, 3rd party validation of skills/knowledge and consistent education. Scrum.org relationships from day one have always been with professional Scrum practitioners as they embark on their journey to mastery. But what about organizations that these professionals learn from as part of their education? The training company ecosystem has largely been scattered throughout history, teaching Scrum inconsistently.
Today I would like to announce the Scrum.org Professional Trainer Network (PTN). This program provides a platform for organizations, that are delivering professional Scrum training to directly connect with Scrum.org and its professional Scrum community. The program ensures not only that you are getting your training from highly capable Professional Scrum Trainers (PSTs), but also, PTN members who are following a code of conduct inspired by the Scrum Values and support the mission of improving the profession of software delivery. Members of the program can be found on the Scrum.org website which provides a way for anyone looking for training to find them.
