Micaela Anna Syjuco

Mica Syjuco is a Software Engineering Manager in a multinational company. She is currently located in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and has been in software development for over 10 years. 

Mica has a strong expertise in implementing and leading Traditional / Agile / Scrum based development and delivery processes supporting distributed teams on medium to large-scale .NET based enterprise projects. She has taken on design, coding, QA, project management, and capability building and leadership positions during the course of her career. She currently provides clients throughout North America with Scrum training, consultation and coaching with a focus on Microsoft .NET technology. She also actively builds and grows her organization’s agile capability.  

Mica has been a presenter/speaker at a number of internal and external engagements including local Microsoft ALM and global Avanade TechSummit events. 

Outside of work, she is in a band called "Utakan" handling synths and drum machines. As part of her stint with her band, she has performed in several events including those which featured artists and musicians from France, Germany, the United States, Singapore, Japan, and the Philippines. Utakan is currently on hiatus.

She is a Professional Scrum Trainer, Professional Scrum Expert, Professional Scrum Master, Professional Scrum Developer, Professional Scrum Product Owner, Professional Scrum Practitioner, and certified in Scaled Professional Scrum.  She loves working with creative people, is always eager to evolve and improve herself, and has a sincere and unbridled passion for Scrum.
